Tom Petti Operating Director

Dr. Petti brings extensive experience in the specialty chemicals industry. He served as President of Refining Technologies at W. R. Grace & Co. (“Grace”), a division that develops, manufactures, and sells catalysts used by refineries to improve the production efficiency and quality of transportation fuels and petrochemical feedstocks, and also represented Grace as a shareholder in Advanced Refining Technologies, the market leader in hydroprocessing catalysts and a joint venture with Chevron. Prior to that, he served as President of Grace Construction Products from 2013 until Grace spun off the business into a separate publicly listed company, GCP Applied Technologies. Before rejoining Grace in 2012, he co-founded Vandelay Management, a strategy, marketing, and business development consultancy specializing in the chemical, petrochemical, refining, and biofuels industries, serving clients including Grace, Ascend Performance Materials, CB&I, and Praxair.

He currently serves on the Board of Directors of Luxium Solutions, Tilley Distribution, J&K Ingredients, and Phoenix Flavors and Fragrances.

Dr. Petti holds a bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering from the University of Maryland, an M.B.A. from Duke University, and a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Delaware.

Operating Directors are not employees of SK Capital. Such directors are expected to receive compensation from certain Funds’ portfolio investments and/or directly from certain Funds. Such compensation will not result in offsets to, or reductions of the management fee paid by the corresponding Fund.
